Using filters prevents dirt or contaminants from passing through the spray system. They minimize the possibility of nozzle clogging and optimize the quality of the work to be done. The size of the filter is determined by its mesh number. The denser the mesh (the higher the value), the more filtered the material will be. Lower value, dense paints. A higher filter value expressed in the number of holes per inch is used for thin paints.
